The Joint Hospital Planning Council was founded in 1980 by parties at both Bridgeport Hospital and St. Vincents Medical Center. It's purpose is to provide medical control authorization for ambulances and emergency medical providers operating within the Greater Bridgeport area.This region encompasses the cities/towns of Bridgeport, Fairfield, Stratford, Trumbull, Monroe and Easton.

Our organizations' mission is to "Provide Excellence in EMS Care" to the areas by through quality educational programs, institution of effective quality improvement programs and by enforcement of our regional protocols.  Cooperation and teamwork between our organization, the ambulance providers operating within the region and the hospitals providing definitive patient care is essential to the fulfillment of our mission.
